Privacy Policy — OpenParcel

Draft notice: Final privacy-policy copy is being reviewed by outside counsel. The factual disclosures below (data sources, sub-processors, retention windows, DSAR mechanism) reflect the production system and are technically accurate.

What we collect

OpenParcel aggregates publicly-recorded New Jersey property data and supplements it with skip-traced owner contact information. Specifically:

NJ MOD-IV tax rolls — assessment, owner-of-record, mailing address. Public record under N.J.S.A. 54:4 and licensed CC-BY-SA 4.0.
County clerk deeds — recording date, grantor/grantee, consideration. Public record.
Skip-traced contacts — phone numbers and email addresses for property owners, retrieved from public-record aggregators when an OpenParcel customer requests enrichment.

Skip-tracing waterfall

When a customer calls the enrichment endpoint, OpenParcel queries up to three sources in priority order:

TruePeopleSearch — aggregated from public-record sources.
FastPeopleSearch — aggregated from public-record sources.
DataEnrich (a.k.a. Tracerfy) — commercial skip-tracing provider; billed per hit.

The current sub-processor list is published in machine-readable form at /.well-known/sub-processors.json.

Daniel's Law

OpenParcel honors New Jersey's Daniel's Law (N.J.S.A. 47:1B-1) by maintaining a registry of protected names and refusing to return contact data for any matching individual. The registry is refreshed daily and updates are pushed to subscribed customers via signed webhook (event type redaction.created).

Cache & retention

Skip-traced contacts are cached for 90 days.
DNC-checked phone numbers carry a dnc_checked_at timestamp.
Deletion requests (DELETE /v1/owner_contacts) are honored within 24 hours and the contact is placed on a permanent suppression list.

Your rights (CCPA, NJDPA, GDPR)

If you are a New Jersey, California, or EU/UK resident and would like your data deleted from OpenParcel:

Email privacy@openparcel.io with the property address or owner name.
Or have your developer call DELETE /v1/owner_contacts.

We will confirm deletion within 24 hours and will not re-skip-trace your data thereafter.
